Today's meeting with the UMSU team focused on several key initiatives: establishing a Thai language interpreter and language classes with potential job opportunities such as tour guide or import/export assistant; developing SMEs by involving Thai students at UMSU, particularly entrepreneurial students in the business incubator center, with a structured 3-shift system that does not disrupt study schedules, supported by mentorship from the KADIN team and Thai product companies; learning effective downstream processes in Thailand to reduce food waste, such as producing dried mango and dried durian; and planning future activities, including cultural dance exchanges between Indonesian and Thai students. During recent gathering, Thai attache officers met with the team of Yum Thai and a Thai chef. They also provided dates for fasting students. Plans for opening a THAI PRODUCT MART at UMSU were discussed and well received by students, to be further discussed with the Rector. Cultural events for each student's region were proposed, like ASURA, where villagers bring produce to cook together, slated for 3 months after September. The event ended with the attache officers giving souvenirs to honcon and Mr. Erianto, followed by distributing essentials to students. It concluded with a group photo. Dalam pertemuan bersilahturahmi, atase kampus tak hanya bertemu dengan tim restoran Yum Thai dan seorang chef asal Thailand, tetapi juga membawa buah kurma sebagai simbol kepedulian terhadap mahasiswa yang sedang berpuasa. Suasana makan bersama terasa hangat dan akrab, di mana muncul ide untuk membuka THAI PRODUCT MART di kampus UMSU, yang disambut antusias oleh mahasiswa. Tidak hanya itu, mereka juga merencanakan acara kebudayaan dari berbagai daerah asal mahasiswa, seperti acara ASURA yang menghadirkan tradisi memasak bersama hasil bumi dari desa-desa, dijadwalkan 3 bulan setelah bulan September. In a successful resolution, three Thai fishermen, part of a crew detained in Batam, were deported after overcoming legal challenges. The crew, detained in July 2023 for entering Batam waters without permission, faced uncertainties as the vessel lacked documentation and an owner. The Thai Ambassador team prioritized their release, coordinating with authorities and securing fines for the vessel's captain. The crew, appreciative of support from the Thai Consulate team and a local resident, successfully returned to Thailand in December 2023. This positive outcome reflects collaborative efforts and highlights the importance of diplomatic engagement in resolving such cases. On January 15, 2024, our team held an e-meeting with the Thai Consulate Team, including representation from the Thai Embassy. Several key points were discussed during the meeting. Firstly, there was a proposal to host events every semester aimed at fostering a sense of community for Thai citizens in Medan. These events would involve collaboration with chefs and local citizens to enhance Thai community engagement. Additionally, there was a call to brainstorm innovative ways to connect with the Thai communities in Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, and Batam, with the intention of developing more creative activities. Another significant agenda item was the exploration of potential connections between local university and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Lastly, it was announced that in March, the embassy would host 20 Thai students in Jakarta, selected as winners in an ongoing contest..so stay tuned! This initiative aims to further BUILD TRUST, strengthen cultural ties and collaboration between the two nations.

Upon arrival at Poldasu, the Honorary Consul was warmly welcomed by the Chief of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Mr. Irjen Pol. Agung Setya Imam Effendi, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si, accompanied by the Director of Intelligence and Security, Kombes Dwi Indra Maulana, the Director of Vital Object Security, Kombes I Made Oka Putra, and the Director of Community Development, Kombes Muhammad Muslim Siregar. The meeting proceeded warmly and positively. On this occasion, an invitation was extended to Mr. Kapoldasu to attend an event on December 12, 2023, at the JW Marriott Medan hotel. Discussions continued with a focus on the potential collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand. A valuable training program for 16 Female Prisoners (WBP) at Medan Women's Penitentiary began with great enthusiasm, inaugurated by Mrs. Ika, Chairperson of the Committee representing the prison. The training, taking place from November 7 to November 25, 2023, received full support from the Head of Medan Women's Penitentiary, as expressed by Dahlia Murni, Head of Personnel Affairs, who hoped that the training would provide essential skills for the WBP to reintegrate into society. On the 26th of October, we convened a pivotal technical meeting in diligent anticipation of the impending office inauguration event, meticulously addressing the intricate details and preparations essential for its successful execution.

On October 25, 2023, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Medan conducted an official visit to the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra, located at 3 Kapt Mukhtar Basri Street, Medan. The Consul and the delegation were warmly received by the Deputy Rector 3, Associate Professor Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, and the Director of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation, Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, S.Sos, M.A, along with all the approximately 40 students from Thailand. In his welcoming address, Deputy Rector 3 expressed his enthusiasm for the visit of the Honorary Consul of Thailand and the delegation. He noted that international students, including those from Thailand, have been attending UMSU since the 1990s, with many Thai students making their academic home on Halat Street. Currently, there are around 40 students from Thailand, pursuing various academic disciplines at UMSU. Deputy Rector 3 expressed hope that the Honorary Consul would visit UMSU again on future occasions. In his response, the Honorary Consul expressed his delight and pride in the growing number of Thai students, which has exceeded initial estimates of about 18 students. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the abilities of Thai students and their potential to make positive contributions in the fields of knowledge and business in the future. Apart from the speeches by Deputy Rector 3 and the Honorary Consul, Thai students had the opportunity to share their experiences while studying in Medan. They expressed their happiness at learning at UMSU and highlighted the valuable Indonesian language education they have received. On this occasion, Mrs. Rizky added that UMSU treats foreign students as part of the family, providing attention to even the smallest details. The meeting concluded with the exchange of gifts and a group photo.

On October 18, 2023, a gathering was convened at the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Medan under the initiative of Mr. Martono Anggusti, the Honorary Consul of the Thai Kingdom in Medan. At this meeting, representatives from the North Sumatra Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (APINDOSU) and UDOM Seafood expressed their keen interest in fish roe and specific fish varieties. Diverse company delegates introduced themselves and presented their product portfolios, fostering a hospitable environment. An agreement was reached to conduct a site visit to the Belawan fishery on October 19, 2023. The meeting was concluded with a group photograph at 11:55 am.

At the meeting between Royal Thai Honorary Consulate and the representatives from the Office of the Rector of Universitas Prima (UNPRI), who were represented by the Vice Rector and the International Relations team, held at the UNPRI Campus on Sampul Street in Medan, various important matters were discussed. The primary topic of discussion was to explore the potential for implementing student and faculty exchange programs between UNPRI and universities in Thailand. UNPRI has equipped itself with specific facilities for student exchange programs in the field of culinary arts. In this context, UNPRI provides facilities for students to acquire expertise in cooking traditional dishes unique to North Sumatra, such as Ombus-ombus and other regional specialties. — Pada pertemuan Konhor Thailand dengan perwakilan Rektorat Universitas Prima, yang diwakili oleh Wakil Rektor dan staf bagian Hubungan Internasional, yang berlangsung di Kampus UNPRI, Jalan Sampul, Medan, dibahas berbagai hal penting. Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi, in collaboration with the Honorary Consulate of Thailand, conducted an audience in Room M102 of Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi on Friday, October 13, 2023. Present at the meeting were Dr. H. Muhammad Isa Indrawan, SE., MM (Rector of UNPAB), H. Abdul Razak Nasution, S.H.Int., M.Sc (Head of UNPAB's Department of International Cooperation), DR. IR. Martono Anggusti, SH., MM., M.HUM (Honorary Consul of Thailand), Uswatun Hasanah, SE., M.Si (Head of the Strategic Research and Development Cooperation Institute), and DR. Annisa Ilmi Faried, S.Sos., M.SP (Head of the Community Service and Village Development Cooperation Institute). During this meeting, discussions centered around the cooperation between the two parties, which included: 1. Collaboration involving villages in Thailand and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) related to halal matters. 2. Collaboration for the development of villages in North Sumatra and villages in Thailand. 3. Collaboration in the field of social and cultural development in Thailand. On 4th October 2023 at 14:00 WIB, at Vihara Buddharatana in CBD Polonia, Block G 1-2 Medan, a formal meeting occurred. The Honorary Consul paid a visit to Bhikkhu Dhammadhiro to discuss the shipment of two 3-meter Buddha statues from Thailand. These statues, along with 120 small sculptures, were graciously provided by the Kingdom of Thailand to Vihara Buddharatana in Medan and Vihara Jinapannasarana in Perbaungan through the Buddhasayankita Foundation. Following this meeting, immediate follow-up actions will be taken with the Thai Embassy in Jakarta, and a committee will be formed in Medan to coordinate the shipping process from Thailand to Medan, Indonesia. The meeting concluded with the presentation of souvenirs from the Honorary Consul to Bhikkhu Dhammadhiro, reciprocated with the handing over of photocopies of documents related to the Buddha statues' donation. 4 Oct 2023, 14.00 WIB Vihara Buddharatana CBD Polonia, Blok G 1-2 Medan. BINJAI – The Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Medan and the Princess Maha Chakri Award delegation visited SMP Negeri 2 Binjai on September 29, 2023. The warm reception by the school community included traditional performances. The Head of SMP Negeri 2 Binjai, Dra. HJ. Merry Yosepha Gusnaini, expressed pride and commended a teacher's achievement. Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara , Chairman of the PMCA Foundation (University Council President, Kasetsart University, and Former Deputy Minister of Education), congratulated Mrs. Harisdayani on being chosen to represent Indonesia and receive an award from Princess Maha Chakri. Dr. Krissanapong mentioned that the year 2023 marks the fifth year of the Princess Maha Chakri Award, given to teachers who have demonstrated effective, creative, and principles of Independent Learning and sustainability in their teaching methods. "This award is given every 2 years to 10 countries in Southeast Asia and Timor Leste," Dr. Krissanapong stated. The Consul highlighted the program's role in enhancing bilateral relations and mentioned plans for sustainable development initiatives. The delegation's visit from PMCA Foundation was also attended by the Secretary of Binjai representing the Mayor of Binjai and representatives from the Department of Education and Culture of Binjai City.

We express our best wishes for their fruitful and productive engagements during their time in Batam.

This activity report details the events that transpired during the visit to Batam from September 13 to 16, 2023. On September 13, 2023, between 14:00 and 16:00 WIB, a formal study visit was conducted at Batu Ampar Port. Moving to September 14, 2023, the day commenced with an official visit by the Thai Ambassador and their team, accompanied by the Thai Honorary Consul and their team. The visit to the Kepri Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) took place between 09:50 and 11:00 WIB, followed by a study visit to the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Nongsa from 14:00 to 16:00 WIB. The SEZ Nongsa, designated as an investment zone, was elucidated, showcasing the specific facilities provided to streamline economic functions, including convenient accessibility to ports, jetties, airports, and incentives geared towards bolstering competitiveness among neighboring countries, notably Tax-Holiday benefits. Shifting to September 15, 2023, the day's agenda featured an official visit by the Thai Ambassador and their team, in collaboration with the Thai Honorary Consul and their team. Commencing at 08:00 and concluding at 14:45 WIB, a visit to Rudenim Tg. Pinang was conducted. The primary goal for the Ambassador on this occasion was to secure the release and subsequent deportation of three Thai citizens, accomplished through methodical coordination with the relevant authorities. This was followed by a visit to the BAKAMLA Batam Base from 15:30 to 17:15 WIB, concluding with a dinner gathering with Thai nationals residing in Batam. Lastly, on September 16, 2023, the Batam visit was concluded, and all participants embarked on their respective departures.

Visit Report to Songkuan's Wife Residence in Pancur Batu On September 5, 2023, the Konhor team conducted an on-site visit to the residence of Songkuan's wife, a Thai national detained at Medan Detention House. The residence, inhabited by the wife and their three children, is located in the Pancur Batu area and is owned by the mother-in-law. During the visit, Konhor engaged in a dialogue with Songkuan's wife to gather information regarding their journey to Medan. Furthermore, Konhor and the team inquired about the presence of any identification documents belonging to Songkuan. Upon confirming the absence of Songkuan's personal identification documents, Konhor conveyed the commitment to exert maximum effort to address this matter. Konhor requested Songkuan's wife to draft a letter of request to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkumham RI) seeking issuance of the required identification documents for her husband. The letter of request will also bear signatures of neighbors as witnesses to corroborate the authenticity of the situation, thus reinforcing the content of the request letter. During the Konhor Thailand – Universitas Mahkota Tricom Unggul meeting on September, Univ. MTU expressed their aspirations for diverse collaborations with Thai universities. They aimed for partnerships in agribusiness, specifically urban farming research, and multimedia development like video editing. The university was keen on facilitating student exchanges and opening classes for Thai students. Additionally, they showcased readiness to contribute to Konhor Thailand events and offered to be a hub for Muay Thai sports development in Medan. During the Konhor Thailand – Kadin Sumatera Utara (SU) meeting on September 11, 2023, Kadin SU expressed their hopes for the resumption of operations of Roro ferry vessels, aiming to support various economic aspects such as food and clothing across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. They also sought collaboration in agricultural technology with Thailand and emphasized the importance of cooperation in developing small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) in the culinary and coffee product sectors. Furthermore, Kadin SU urged special attention to be given to addressing the issue of human trafficking involving Indonesians in Thailand, highlighting the need to safeguard Indonesian nationals. On September 5, 2023, The Honorary Consul of Thailand in Medan engaged in a formal meeting of goodwill with the APINDO North Sumatra team.

On September 5th, 2023, the Thailand Honorary Consul, Mr. Martono Anggusti, and his team came to the aid of Mr. Songphow Photjumnean, who found himself stranded without a means to return to Thailand. Mr. Martono Anggusti generously purchased an air ticket and organized transportation to the airport for him. The scheduled departure was from Medan to Penang on September 5th, 2023, at 06:50 PM. In addition to the ticket, they provided Mr. Songphow with RM 100 to cover his transportation expenses for the remaining journey from Penang to Hatyai via land transport, including fees related to transportation to the airport. This meeting took place at the East Medan Police Station. Mr. Songphow arrived on Penang Island at 08:45 PM local time. On September 6th, 2023, at 05:10 AM, he continued his journey to Hatyai by train from Penang train station. The most recent update from Mr. Songphow indicated that he reached the Padang Besar Thailand border at 07:12 AM on 6th September 2023.

Following the meeting on August 29, 2023, with the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, on August 30, 2023, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand for the North Sumatra, Riau, and Batam regions, Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti., SH., MM., M.HUM, along with Mr. Erianto (Secretary) and Mr. Jeremia, visited the Immigration Detention House in Medan Belawan Subdistrict. Upon arriving at the Detention House at 10:00 AM local time, the delegation from the Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Immigration Detention House in Medan, *Mr. Sarsaralos Sivakkar*, and his team. The delegation was then taken on a tour of all the facilities within the Immigration Detention House. Additionally, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand had the opportunity to meet and greet some of the detainees. After the tour of the facilities, the delegation gathered in a prepared meeting room. Following presentations from both sides, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand had a special session to meet with Mr. Somkuat, a Thai national detained due to lack of proper documents upon entering the Republic of Indonesia. After listening to Mr. Somkuat's detailed issues, the Honorary Consul expressed a commitment to making every effort to find a solution for the document-related problem, as the individual in question has an Indonesian wife and three children. The visit concluded with a lunch reception featuring a special menu prepared by the detainees of the Immigration Detention House in Medan.

On August 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM WIB, Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti, SH., MM., M.HUM, the Honorary Consul of Thailand for North Sumatra, Riau, and Batam, along with Mr. Erianto (Secretary) and Mr. Jeremia, held a meeting at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of North Sumatra in Medan. Drs. Imam Suyudi, Bc.I.P., S.H., M.H, the Head of North Sumatra Kemenkumham (Kakanwil Kemenkumham Sumut), accompanied by Mr. Purwanto, the Head of the Immigration Division (Kadiv Keimigrasian), Mr. Rudy S, the Head of Penitentiary Division (Kadiv Lembaga Pemasyarakatan), and Mr. Rudi, the Head of Administrative Division (Kadiv Administrasi), warmly welcomed and hosted the Honorary Consul and his team. The atmosphere of the meeting was marked by friendliness, and Konhor's visit was received with great appreciation. The Honorary Consul explained that the primary purpose of the meeting was to introduce himself as the recently appointed Royal Thai Consul and to collaboratively address any issues concerning Thai citizens in North Sumatra. In addition, Konhor highlighted five key areas of focus, namely Fashion, Food, Fighting (Muay Thai), Festivals, and Film. The Head of the Immigration Division (Kadiv Keimigrasian) provided insights into the current Thai population in North Sumatra, which stands at 45 individuals, with 90% of them being students enrolled in various universities. During the meeting, the Head of the Immigration Division (Kadiv Keimigrasian) also shared comprehensive data about the Thai citizens along with a list of their activity locations. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties exchanging souvenirs as tokens of goodwill. The session adjourned at 11:45 AM WIB.

On the 15th of August 2023, Mr. Tanawut, accompanied by Mr. Pak Bethman Siagian and colleagues from Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Medan, held a meeting with the newly appointed Thai Consul, Martono Anggusti, who is taking over from Mr. Abidin Surtijo. Mr. Erianto, the Head of Operations in North Sumatra, was also present. During the meeting, it was conveyed that Charoen Pokphand (CP) would be providing support to the Consulate General's activities in the fields of education, culture, and economic development. Historically, whenever foreign guests, especially from Thailand, have visited the country, they have consistently engaged with CP. The interaction was marked by a warm and cordial atmosphere, lasting for nearly two hours, passing by unnoticed.

21/02/2023, today Mr. Martono, accompanied by wife, Mrs. Mily and daughter, Ms.Yosin, visited the embassy of Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia. Welcomed and guided by Mr. Chris and Mr. Poniman, the driver of the embassy, we arrived safely at the embassy and we were warmly greeted by H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand and Khun Joy. With the topic of "Luncheon in Honour of Bapak Martono Anggusti Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Medan, 21 Feb 2021 at 13.00 hrs", we enjoyed our sharing sessions with topics related to the duties of the assignment over well prepared lunch with the staffs and diplomats. After lunch, we were led to the front lobby for the next agenda where H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat formally hand over the physical letter of appointment signed by His Majesty, (Manu Regia) Maha Vajiralongkorn.R; Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, King of Thailand. And by His Majesty's command; General Prayut Chan o-cha (Ret.); Prime Minister, also signed the physical letter. We were very honoured to be appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Medan. With that, we had a small celebration by drinking apple juice together and took photographs to commemorate this special moment. We are happy to finally wrap our discussions over this special assignment and we are looking forward to the next event for inauguration at Medan. What an honour and hospitality to be welcomed by His Excellency. Today we had a good introduction to know each other better and we are looking forward to growing economic, cultural and education sectors which are mutually beneficial for Thailand and Indonesia. We hope with friends in Kadin Sumut, we can establish more platforms to further discuss on both challenges and opportunities to spur economic growth in both countries.
